Well here's a little lesson from my friend I once had
Looking on a bright side, didn't dwell on the bad,
My first impression was this dude ain't like me,
But the more I got to know him, the more I came to see
I've been told lots of stories about things when he was young,
None of them surprised me 'cause (all red)? loved having fun,
He lived a real fast life and had a damned good time,
Maybe one day I see him at the end of the line
You can't judge a book until you turn a page,
Some of us die young, don't get to see old age,
One thing a-certain, one thing a-fact:
Take nothing for granny, 'cause you can't go back.
Everyone who knew him knew he cared a lot,
For all his friends around him he gave everything he got,
I didn't know him long but I call him my friend,
It's just way too damn bad that it all had the end.
You can't judge a book until you turn a page,
Some of us die young, don't get to see old age,
One thing a-certain, one thing a-fact:
Don't take life for granny, 'cause you can't go back.
