standing in the road
winds a blowin’ cold
time has come to make a move
your feet are planted though
you might just laugh
you might just cry
you might not care
you realize
further down the road’s your ride
you decided you should go
walkin’ down the road
don’t know which way to go
had no time to pack your bags
it’s such a heavy load
you might go left
you might go right
you can’t look back
without hindsight
before you leave turn out the lights
with the time moving so slow
dark end of the road
no place left to go
no street lights to lead the way
ankle deep in the potholes
you can’t roll on
you can’t roll in
you turned your head
you can’t begin
to read the signs that lead you in
out from all the cold
